Saint Solange

Solange Piaget Knowles, known mononymously as Solange, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress born on June 24, 1986. She expressed a passion for music from an early age and had temporary stints as a backup dancer with Destiny's Child, featuring her older sister Beyoncé among its members. At the age of 16, Solange released her first studio album Solo Star (2002). Her second studio album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (2008), was heavily influenced by Motown girl groups and deviated from pop-oriented sounds to more traditional R&B and soul music. She followed with True (2012) on Terrible Records and her imprint Saint Records, which was 1980s-inspired pop and R&B. Her third studio album, A Seat at the Table (2016), received widespread critical acclaim and became her first number-one album in the US.

The lead single 'Cranes in the Sky' won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance. Solange's fourth studio album, When I Get Home (2019), further garnered critical praise and peaked within the top ten. Known for her songwriting skills, she has been ranked by Billboard as one of the most successful dance artists of all time. Solange’s ventures extend beyond music into performance art, with appearances in international museums and exhibitions such as the Elbphilharmonie, Venice Art Biennale, and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. In 2017, she received the 'Impact Award' at the Billboard Women in Music event.
