Saint Teresa de Jesús Jornet Ibars

Teresa Jornet Ibars, also known as Saint Teresa of Jesus (9 January 1843 – 26 August 1897), was a Spanish religious sister who dedicated her life to caring for the elderly and infirm. She founded the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly, an order that continues its mission today. Ibars was closely related to Francisco Palau and had a close friendship with Saturnino López Novoa. Her dedication to helping the elderly earned her recognition within the Church; she was beatified by Pope Pius XII on 27 April 1958 and canonized as a saint by Pope Paul VI in 1974.
