Saint Emerius of Bañoles, also known as Saint Éméry, was a revered Catholic saint and a Benedictine monk in the 8th century. Born in France, little information is available about his early life. However, according to historical documents, Saint Emerius was the son of Saint Candida of Bañoles, a devout woman who lived in a hermitage near the Saint Stephen of Bañoles Abbey located in Catalonia, Spain.

Inspired by his mother’s deep spirituality and commitment to God, Saint Emerius dedicated his life to serving the Church. He entered the Benedictine order and became a monk at the Saint Stephen of Bañoles Abbey, which he later founded. His devotion to God and his zealous passion for spreading the teachings of Christ made him a well-respected figure among his fellow monks and the local community.
