Biografía

Saint Leontius of Lydda is venerated in certain Christian traditions as a martyr whose life was profoundly shaped by the witness of Saint George. According to tradition, he resided in Lydda, a city in the Roman province of Palestine, and was moved to embrace Christianity after observing the extraordinary courage and unwavering faith of Saint George during his own martyrdom. Leontius, inspired by George’s steadfastness, publicly professed his new faith. For this conversion and his subsequent profession of Christianity, he was seized and martyred on the very day following Saint George’s death, demonstrating a willingness to share in the same fate as his spiritual exemplar.
