Biografía
Saint Neon of Lydda, a humble witness to the faith, is commemorated for his courageous conversion and martyrdom in the early Christian era. Born in the city of Lydda (modern-day Lod, Israel), Neon's life took a decisive turn upon witnessing the unwavering courage and profound faith of Saint George, the soldier-martyr, as George faced persecution for his Christian witness. Inspired by George's steadfastness, Neon himself embraced the Christian faith, a choice that would cost him his life.
His conversion, however, was met with immediate and severe persecution. On the very day following the martyrdom of Saint George, Neon was seized and executed for his newfound faith. His death was a direct consequence of his public profession of Christianity, made possible only through the powerful example of George's sacrifice. Saint Neon of Lydda is thus remembered as a faithful disciple who followed the path of martyrdom illuminated by the witness of Saint George.
