Biography

Saint Emanuele Lê Van Phung, also known as Emmanuel Le Van Phung, was a devout layman and martyr in the apostolic vicariate of West Cochinchina, in modern-day Vietnam. Born around 1796 in Ðau Nuoc, Cù Lao Giêng, Vietnam, he grew up in a region where Catholicism was thriving despite the challenges posed by the imperial rule.
