Biography

Saint Lambert of Saragossa, also known as Lamberto or Lambertus, was a farmer and servant during the period of Muslim occupation of Spain. Little is known about his early life, but he lived during a time of religious oppression and persecution. Lambert's story takes a tragic turn when he fell under the control of a Saracen master, who held power over him as a servant. Despite the difficult circumstances, Lambert remained dedicated to his faith and remained steadfast in his devotion to God. It was during this time that Lambert's faith was put to the ultimate test. Refusing to renounce his Christian beliefs, he became a target of his master's wrath. Lambert's refusal to abandon his faith enraged his Saracen master, leading to his martyrdom.
