Biography

Blessed Agrícola Rodríguez García De Los Huertos, also known as Blessed Agrícola, was a Spanish Catholic priest in the archdiocese of Toledo. He was born on 18 March 1896 in Consuegra, Toledo, Spain, and dedicated his life to serving the Church.

Not much is known about the early life of Blessed Agrícola Rodríguez García De Los Huertos, but it is known that he entered the priesthood and was ordained as a priest in the archdiocese of Toledo. He faithfully carried out his pastoral duties, ministering to the spiritual needs of his parishioners.

Tragically, Blessed Agrícola fell victim to the violence and persecution inflicted on Catholics during the Spanish Civil War. On 21 July 1936, in the town of Mora, Toledo, he was martyred for his unwavering faith. His commitment to his Catholic beliefs and his refusal to renounce his religion even in the face of persecution led to his sacrifice.

The martyrdom of Blessed Agrícola Rodríguez García De Los Huertos did not go unnoticed. His virtuous life and brave testimony of faith inspired many, and he was venerated as a martyr by the Catholic Church. On 28 April 2006, Pope Benedict XVI issued a decree of martyrdom, officially recognizing Agrícola as a martyr for the faith.

Finally, on 28 October 2007, Pope Benedict XVI beatified Blessed Agrícola Rodríguez García De Los Huertos, bestowing upon him the title of Blessed. Beatification is a significant step in the process of sainthood, indicating that the person lived a life of exemplary holiness and is now in the presence of God.
