Blessed Andrés Casinello Barroeta, also known as Blessed Andrés Casinello, was a married layman and devoted Catholic from the diocese of Almería, Spain. He was born on August 23, 1886, in the city of Almería.
Blessed Andrés led a pious and exemplary life as a husband and father, striving to live according to the teachings of the Catholic Church. A devout Christian, he actively participated in his local parish community, serving as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist and taking part in various charitable works.
Unfortunately, during the turbulent period of the Spanish Civil War, when anti-Catholic sentiment was widespread, Blessed Andrés Casinello became a target of persecution due to his unwavering faith. On September 26, 1936, in Pozo de Cantavieja, Tahal, Almería, he was martyred for refusing to renounce his Catholic beliefs.
Blessed Andrés Casinello Barroeta's martyrdom is a testament to his steadfast devotion to Christ and his unwavering commitment to his faith. Cardinal Angelo Amato, a high-ranking member of the Catholic Church, presided over the beatification ceremony.
