At a young age, Angelo felt a deep calling to devote his life to seeking God through solitary contemplation. In pursuit of this vocation, he joined the Camaldolese order in approximately 1285. His spiritual journey led him to the San Salvatore di Acquapagana hermitage, where he embraced the austere life of a hermit.

Angelo found solace and peace in the solitude of a nearby cave, dedicating himself to prayer, fasting, and reflection. He sought to detach himself from worldly distractions and deepen his relationship with God. The cave became his sanctuary, allowing him to live a life of simplicity and intense spiritual focus.

Known for his profound humility and devotion, Angelo's reputation as a holy man began to spread throughout the region. People from near and far sought his counsel and guidance, as he exhibited a deep understanding of the human soul and a profound ability to offer spiritual direction.

Blessed Angelo of Acquapagana's earthly journey came to an end on 19 October 1313 in Acquapagana, Italy. Following his passing, his relics were enshrined in the church of the territorial monastery of Montecavallo, Italy, where they continue to be venerated to this day.
