Blessed Antoni Carmaniú Mercarder

Blessed Antoni Carmaniú Mercarder was a Vincentian priest who was martyred in the Spanish Civil War. He was born on August 17, 1860, in Rialp, Lleida, Spain. Antoni dedicated his life to the service of God and entered the Vincentian priesthood, where he served with great passion and conviction.

Due to his brave witness and sacrifice, Antoni Carmaniú Mercarder was venerated by Pope Francis on July 5, 2013. His martyrdom was officially recognized, and he was beatified on October 13, 2013, by Pope Francis.
