Blessed Antonio González Penín, also known as Antonio González Penín, was a Mercedarian brother who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. He was born on 1 March 1864 in San Salvador de Rabal, Celanova, Orense, Spain. Antonio dedicated his life to serving God and his fellow human beings, particularly those in need.

As a Mercedarian brother, Antonio González Penín was a member of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy. This religious order was founded in 1218 with the aim of ransoming Christian captives from Muslim captivity. The Mercedarians, also known as the Order of Mercy, later expanded their mission to other acts of mercy and spiritual works.
