Blessed Armando Óscar Valdés, also known as Jaime, was born on 15 January 1891 in Havana, Cuba. He was a devoted Catholic who dedicated his life to serving God as a monk and became a member of the Hospitallers of Saint John of God, a religious order known for their work in the care of the sick and the marginalized.
