Biography

Blessed Bertrand of Fontaniva, also known as Bertrand d'Orega, Bertramo, or Bertrando, was born in the latter 12th century in Pomerania, which is now part of modern-day Germany. As a young man, he felt called to dedicate his life to God and renounced his worldly possessions. Bertrand embarked on a pilgrimage to various shrines in Rome, Italy, seeking spiritual renewal and divine guidance.
