Biography

Blessed Burchard of Mallersdorf, also known as Burkhard, was a Benedictine monk who lived in the 11th and 12th centuries in what is now modern-day Bavaria, Germany. He was born in the 11th century in Upper Franconia, a region within Bavaria. Little is known about his early life and upbringing, but it is believed that he entered the monastic life at an early age.
