In his early adulthood, Cassian joined the Capuchin Order at Angers, France. It was within the monastic community that he displayed great devotion to prayer and a strong desire to serve God through the conversion of souls. Recognizing his passion for evangelization, the Order sent him on a mission to work alongside Blessed Agathangelus in Egypt, specifically amongst the Coptic Christians.
