Biography

Blessed Dionisio De Vilaregut, born into the nobility of medieval Europe, dedicated his life to the service of God and the liberation of the oppressed. Entering the Mercedarian Order, he took solemn vows at the convent of San Eulalia in Montpellier, France, where his profound piety and unwavering commitment to the Gospel set him apart even among his religious brethren. His life exemplified the Mercedarian mission of ransoming Christian captives held by Muslim forces in the Iberian Peninsula.
