He was born on October 9, 1871, in Caudé, Teruel, Spain. Dionisio Vicente Ramos entered the Friars Minor Conventual, a branch of the Franciscan Order, and was ordained a priest. He dedicated his life to serving God and his community through his religious vocation. As a friar, he lived a life of poverty, chastity, and obedience, following the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi. On July 31, 1936, in Los Tres Pinos, Granollers, Barcelona, Spain, Dionisio Vicente Ramos laid down his life for his faith. He was martyred for his unwavering commitment to Christ and the Gospel message, remaining steadfast even in the face of persecution and threats to his own safety. Recognizing his martyrdom, Pope John Paul II declared Dionisio Vicente Ramos venerable on March 26, 1999, signifying that he had lived a life of heroic virtue. Later, on March 11, 2001, Pope John Paul II beatified him, officially declaring him Blessed Dionisio Vicente Ramos. Blessed Dionisio Vicente Ramos is honored and celebrated on several feast days. Most notably, he is remembered on July 31, the day of his martyrdom.
