Blessed Edward Shelley, born around 1530 in Warminghurst, Sussex, England, was a devout Catholic layman who is celebrated as a martyr of the Catholic Church. He was the son of Edward Shelley and Joan of Penshurst, hailing from prominent families in Sussex and Kent, respectively.
