Biography

Blessed Elizabeth of Saint Francis, also known as Elizabeth of Portugal, was born in Coimbra, Portugal, to a pious noble family. Her life of faith and devotion led her to join the Poor Clares, a contemplative religious order, at the monastery of Saint Clare in Vila do Conde, in the diocese of Braga, Portugal.
