Biography

Blessed Emilio García Pareja, a layman in the diocese of Córdoba, Spain, was born in 1881. He led a life dedicated to his faith and was a fervent Catholic. Unfortunately, during the turbulent years of the Spanish Civil War, he became a victim of religious persecution.

On August 1, 1936, in the town of Morente, Córdoba, Spain, Blessed Emilio Garcia Pareja met a martyr's death for his unwavering commitment to his Catholic beliefs.
