Blessed Félix of Cîteaux, also known as Félix of Valois, was a Cistercian monk who lived during the 12th century. Unfortunately, very little information about his life has survived, leaving us with a rather elusive figure. Despite the scarcity of details, his sanctity and devotion to the Christian faith have been recognized, leading to his veneration and inclusion in the Cistercian menology.
Records indicate that Félix of Cîteaux was born in an unknown year, and his birthplace remains unidentified. Similarly, details about his upbringing, family background, and formative years are absent from historical accounts. However, it is believed that he entered the Cistercian monastery of Cîteaux, located in present-day France, at some point during his life.
Félix is primarily remembered for his exemplary spiritual life within the monastery. Known for his deep contemplative prayer and ascetic practices, he embraced the rigorous Cistercian way of life with unwavering devotion.
