Biography

Blessed Francesc Segalà Solé, also known as Francesc of the Assumption, Francisco Segalà Solé, or Francisco de La Asunción, was a Catholic priest and member of the Discalced Carmelites. He was born on 25 May 1912 in Montgay, Urgell, Lleida, Spain.

Francesc Segalà Solé dedicated his life to the service of God as a priest. He joined the Discalced Carmelites, a religious order known for their devotion to contemplative prayer and asceticism. Within the order, he was known for his piety, humility, and dedication to his vocation.

Unfortunately, Francesc Segalà Solé's life was cut short during the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War. He was martyred for his faith on 20 August 1936 in Lleida, Spain. During this turbulent time, many Catholics were targeted for their religious beliefs, and Francesc Segalà Solé courageously remained steadfast in his commitment to Christ and the Church.
