Blessed Gerricus of Gerresheim, also known as Gerricus of Düsseldorf, Gerrich, Gerrico, and Jericho, was born in the early 9th century in Düsseldorf, Franconia, which is in modern-day Germany. He was born into the landed Frankish nobility and came to control the city of Gerresheim, which was eventually named after him.
