Blessed Gilbert The Theologian, also known as Gilbert of Citeaux, Gilbert of Ourscamp, or Gilbert the Great, was a Benedictine Cistercian monk who lived in the Ourscamp Abbey in the diocese of Noyon, France. Born in England, it is believed that Gilbert dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge and deepening his theological understanding.
