Blessed Giovanni of Genoa, also known as Blessed Giovanni of the Camaldoli, was an esteemed Camaldolese monk and devoted Abbot who lived during the 12th century. While not much is known about his early life or birth, his contributions as a religious leader make his legacy significant.

Giovanni's initial journey as an Abbot began in the year 1110 when he was appointed as the leader of the Cistercian monastery of Sant'Andrea near Sestri, Italy. During his tenure there, he demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and a deep commitment to the spiritual growth of his fellow monks. His wisdom, humility, and dedication led to an increase in the spiritual fervor and discipline within the monastery.
