Blessed Hilario de Santiago Paredes: Feast Day September 3

Biography

Blessed Hilario de Santiago Paredes, also known as Ligorio Pedro, was a devoted Catholic monk and member of the Marist Brothers of the Schools. He was born on May 13, 1912, in Cisneros de Campos, Pamplona, Spain. Blessed Hilario dedicated his life to serving God and the Church.

As a Marist Brother, Blessed Hilario was committed to educating young people according to Catholic principles. He wholeheartedly embraced his religious vocation and strived to foster the spiritual and intellectual development of his students.

Tragically, during the turbulent period of the Spanish Civil War, Blessed Hilario was martyred for his unwavering faith. He faced persecution for his religious beliefs and was ultimately executed on September 3, 1936, in Les Avellanes, Balaguer, Lleida, Spain.
