Biography

Blessed Ignacio Carretero Sobrino, known as Ignacio Carretero, was a Catholic priest of the diocese of Córdoba, Spain. He was born on 1 February 1879 in Hinojosa del Duque, Córdoba, Spain. Throughout his life, Ignacio dedicated himself to serving the spiritual needs of the faithful.

As a priest, Ignacio was assigned to the Cañada del Gamo community, where he worked tirelessly to guide and support his parishioners. This recognition marked an important step towards his beatification, which was celebrated on 16 October 2021 at the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Córdoba, Spain. The beatification ceremony was presided over by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro.
