Blessed Joaquim Balcells Bosch, born on September 16, 1900, in L'Espluga Calba, Lleida, Spain, was a Catholic priest in the Archdiocese of Tarragona. He lived during a tumultuous period in Spanish history, which ultimately led to his martyrdom in the Spanish Civil War.
