Biography

Blessed José Luis Palacio Muñiz, a Dominican priest, was born on May 20, 1870, in Tuñana, Pola de Siero, Asturias, Spain. He dedicated his life to the service of God and His people, committing himself to the Dominican Order.

Father Palacio Muñiz was known for his deep faith, humility, and commitment to his vocation as a priest. He tirelessly preached the Gospel and brought the message of Christ's love and mercy to all who crossed his path. His gentle and compassionate nature endeared him to his parishioners and the communities he served.

However, during the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War, Father Palacio Muñiz became a victim of the religious persecution inflicted upon the Catholic Church. On July 25, 1936, he was martyred in Algodor, Toledo, Spain, for his unwavering commitment to his faith and refusal to renounce his beliefs.
