From a young age, Julián demonstrated a strong and unwavering faith. He was raised in a devout Catholic family and developed a deep love for God and his Church.

Julián faced the challenging times of the Spanish Civil War, a period marked by political and social unrest, with courage and conviction. Despite the risks associated with his faith during that tumultuous era, Julián remained steadfast in his devotion to Catholicism.

Tragically, on 29th July 1936, Julián was martyred in the Casa de Campo area of Madrid. He valiantly gave his life for his beliefs, refusing to renounce his faith even in the face of persecution and violence. His unwavering witness to the Gospel and his willingness to die for his Catholic convictions are the hallmarks of his martyrdom.

Following his death, Julián's reputation for holiness and his martyrdom gained widespread recognition among the faithful. On 3rd June 2013, Pope Francis officially confirmed Julián Aguilar Martín's inclusion in the martyrology, thereby recognizing his martyrdom. His beatification ceremony was celebrated by Pope Francis on 13th October 2013, affirming his blessed status within the Catholic Church.
