Blessed Julián Delgado Díez, also known as Brother Hugo Julián, was a member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and one of the thousands of victims of the Spanish Civil War. He was born on 9 January 1905 in Villarrodrigo, a town in Palencia, Spain. As a member of the religious congregation, he dedicated his life to the service of God and the education of young people.
Brother Julián lived during a tumultuous period in Spanish history, marked by political and social unrest. The outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 led to a wave of violence against clergy and religious figures who were perceived as enemies of the state. Regrettably, Brother Julián became one of these martyrs.
On 12 September 1936, Brother Julián was in Riudellots, a municipality in Girona, when he was captured and martyred. However, it is known that he gave his life for his faith, becoming a testimony to the
