In 1519, Kristian Hosius entered the Premonstratensian Order and became a canon at the famous monastery of Tongerlo, located in Westerlo, Flanders (present-day Belgium). His deep commitment to his religious vocation led him to pursue higher education in theology, earning a degree in the field.
Equipped with his theological knowledge, Kristian Hosius dedicated himself to teaching at his monastery and also at the chapel in Roosendall. His teaching skills and the impact he had on his students' spiritual lives were widely recognized and highly appreciated.
However, Kristian Hosius' journey of service did not end with his involvement in education. He took on the role of a parish priest in various locations, including Vissenaken, Tongerlo, Oevel, and Roosendaal. He impressed many with his remarkable devotion and pastoral care towards the people he served.
Kristian Hosius gained a significant reputation for his exceptional charity work, earning him the epithet "the father of the poor."
