Blessed Leandro Gómez Gil, born on 13 March 1915 in Hontomín, Burgos, Spain, was a Trappist monk who lived during a tumultuous period in Spanish history known as the Spanish Civil War. He dedicated his life to a contemplative monastic existence, seeking unity with God through prayer, work, and austerity.
