Blessed Louis-Zéphirin Moreau, also known as Blessed Louis-Zéphirin Moreau of Saint-Hyacinthe, was born on April 1, 1824, in Bécancour, Quebec, Canada. He came from a humble farm family, but his early years were marked by illness and frailty.
