Blessed Luis Moreno Aliende, also known as Luis Alfonso, was a devout monk and member of the Marist Brothers of the Schools. Born on June 24, 1911, in Quintanilla San García, Burgos, Spain, he displayed a deep sense of piety from an early age. His religious vocation led him to join the Marist Brothers, where he dedicated himself to a life of prayer, teaching, and serving others.
Luis Moreno Aliende's life was tragically cut short during the turbulent period of the Spanish Civil War. As a result of his strong faith and commitment to his beliefs, he faced persecution and martyrdom. On August 26, 1936, he was martyred in Madrid, Spain, bravely refusing to renounce his Catholic faith.
