Blessed Mariano Alarcón Ruiz, also known as Father José Mariano of the Angels, was a Discalced Carmelite priest who was martyred during the Spanish Civil War. He was born on 24 November 1912 in Murcia, Spain, and died on 17 December 1936 in Badalona, Barcelona, Spain.
Father José Mariano Alarcón Ruiz joined the Discalced Carmelite Order and dedicated his life to serving God and spreading the message of love and peace. He was known for his deep spirituality, devotion to prayer, and love for the poor and marginalized.
