Blessed Mariano Fernándeztenllado Roldán, also known as "Blessed Mariano Roldán," was a priest of the diocese of Córdoba, Spain, who dedicated his life to serving the people of the Posadas community. He was born on November 8, 1895, in Rute, a town in the province of Córdoba.

From an early age, Mariano displayed profound piety and a strong desire to follow the path of priesthood. He pursued his studies in theology and was ordained as a priest, committing himself to the spiritual care of his parishioners.

During the tumultuous years of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), religious persecution was rampant in Spain. It was during this period that Mariano faced great danger for his faith. Despite the risks, he fearlessly continued to fulfill his priestly duties, providing solace and guidance to those who sought his help.

On July 23, 1936, in the town of Posadas, Córdoba, Mariano Roldán was martyred for his Catholic faith, becoming one of the many casualties of religious violence during the Spanish Civil War. His selfless dedication and refusal to renounce his religious beliefs made him a target of the anti-Catholic forces prevalent during that time.

Blessed Mariano Fernándeztenllado Roldán's martyrdom did not go unnoticed, even amid the chaos of war. His exemplary life of faith and his ultimate sacrifice for his beliefs caught the attention of the Catholic Church, which recognized his holiness. On November 23, 2020, Pope Francis declared Mariano Fernándeztenllado Roldán as "Blessed," venerated for his martyrdom through a decree officially acknowledging his martyrdom.

The beatification ceremony, recognizing Blessed Mariano's martyrdom, took place on October 16, 2021, in the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Córdoba, Spain.
