Blessed Pedro Esteban Hernandez, born on July 27, 1869, in Híjar, Teruel, Spain, was a Mercedarian brother who dedicated his life to serving God and his fellow brothers and sisters. Little is known about his early life and family background, but he entered the Mercedarian Order and lived a life of simplicity, prayer, and service.

During the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War, Blessed Pedro Esteban Hernandez remained faithfully committed to his religious vocation even amidst great danger and persecution.
