Biography

Blessed Rainer of Arnsberg, also known as Rainer of Mariônweerd, was a Premonstratensian monk and canon of the monastery of Mariônweerd in Utrecht, Netherlands. He was born in the early 12th century in the Netherlands, although the exact year of his birth is not documented.

Rainer dedicated his life to serving God and embraced the religious life as a member of the Premonstratensian Order, which followed the Rule of St. Augustine. This monastic order emphasized liturgical prayer, the sacraments, pastoral work, and preaching.
