Blessed Thomas of Naples, also known as Blessed Thomas of Saint Eulalia, was a Mercedian friar and a renowned Biblical scholar. In the mid-16th century, when Protestantism was spreading rapidly in Europe, Blessed Thomas was sent from Naples, Italy, to France by his religious order. His mission was to counter the teachings of the Protestants and to defend the Catholic faith.
