Biography
Blessed Ulrik of Obermarchtal, a devoted Premonstratensian canon, dedicated his life to monastic service within the Order of Prémontré. Born in an era now obscured by history, his early years were spent at the Mönchsrot monastery in Memmingen, Germany, where he embraced the Premonstratensian vocation. In 1171, he was assigned to the newly established Premonstratensian house at Obermarchtal in Swabia, Germany, where he served with steadfast commitment. His exemplary life and leadership earned him the trust of his brethren, leading to his appointment as prior of the Obermarchtal
