Biography
Blessed William Andleby, a witness to the enduring power of faith, was born into a Protestant household in England. After studying at Saint John’s College, Cambridge, and serving as a soldier, he experienced a profound conversion to the Catholic Faith. Determined to live his newfound conviction, he journeyed to Douai, France, where he received the sacred ordination as a priest in 1577. Returning to his homeland amidst intense persecution, he dedicated the next two decades to ministering secretly to the faithful Catholics of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, tending to their spiritual needs in the shadow of danger.
