Biography

Blessed William Dean, formerly a Protestant minister, embraced the Catholic faith and dedicated his life to its service. After his conversion, he pursued priestly studies in Rheims, France, and was ordained in 1581. Returning to his native England, he courageously undertook the perilous work of a home missioner, secretly ministering to Catholics during a time of intense persecution under Queen Elizabeth I.
