His ministry took place within the Diocese of Vannes, an ancient see located in the heart of Brittany. During the era of his service, the region was frequently subjected to the ravages of external invaders. The historical landscape of the ninth and tenth centuries was marked by the relentless pressure of Norman incursions.
These seafaring warriors swept through coastal settlements, seeking plunder and dominance, leaving a trail of destruction that shook the foundations of local communities.
