Saint Abundantius of Rome, a deacon of the Church in the Eternal City, stands as a witness to the unyielding faith of the early Christian community during the brutal persecution under Emperor Diocletian. Alongside his companion, Saint Abundius, he refused to comply with the imperial edict requiring sacrifice to the pagan god Hercules, a act deemed treason against the Christian faith.
