Biografía

Saint Trasilla, also known as Tarsilla, Tarsilia, Tharsilla, or Thrasilla, was a Roman citizen born in an unknown year. She is recognized as a Catholic saint, and her feast day is celebrated on December 24th. Trasilla belonged to an esteemed family and was the sister of Saint Sylvia of Rome and Saint Emiliana. She was also the aunt of Pope Saint Gregory the Great. Despite her noble lineage, Trasilla chose to live a humble and devout life as a religious sister. It is said that she did not join any formal religious order but took private vows to lead a life dedicated to God. Trasilla's spirituality and devotion to God were so profound that she received a vision from Pope Saint Felix III, who was an ancestor of hers. In this vision, Pope Saint Felix III encouraged her to leave this earthly life and enter the eternal realm. Just a few days later, on Christmas Eve, Trasilla passed away in peace. After Trasilla's death, a remarkable event occurred. She appeared to her sister Saint Emiliana with the same message she had received from Pope Saint Felix III. Subsequently, Emiliana also passed away, departing from this world on the eve of Epiphany. While there is no specific representation attributed to Saint Trasilla, her life and legacy continue to inspire many faithful individuals. She is venerated as a Pre-Congregation saint, canonized before the formal process of canonization was established. Her relics are enshrined at the Oratory of Saint Andrew on the Celian Hill in Rome, Italy. Saint Trasilla is honored as the patron saint of single laywomen. Her exemplary dedication to God and her choice to live a religious life outside a formal order serve as an inspiration for all those seeking a deeper relationship with the Divine. Her feast day on December 24th allows believers to remember and celebrate her life, as well as seek her intercession in their own spiritual journeys.
