Blesseds John Lockwood (Lascelles) and Edward Catherick
Saint
Feast Day
April 13
Biography
In the shadowed alleys of a divided kingdom, where the celebration of the Eucharist became a capital offense, two priests stood firm. Their names are John Lockwood, known also as Lascelles, and Edward Catherick. They are remembered not for grand deeds recorded in chronicles, but for the ultimate testimony of their faith. As priests and martyrs of England, their lives were extinguished in York, a city steeped in ancient religious tradition yet turbulent under the weight of political upheaval.
