Phoebe Lucille Bridgers, born on August 17, 1994, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer known for her indie folk music. Her work often centers around acoustic guitar and electronic production, with melancholic lyrical themes. She has achieved critical acclaim and won four Grammy Awards from eleven nominations. Bridgers began performing music in her youth and was a member of the band Sloppy Jane before releasing her debut solo album, Stranger in the Alps, in 2017. Her subsequent albums, Punisher (2020), and her work with supergroups like boygenius have further solidified her reputation as a talented musician. She is also a member of Better Oblivion Community Center, collaborating with Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes. Bridgers has been featured on tracks by various artists including Taylor Swift and Muna, and she advocates for progressive political causes through her music and activism.
