Saint Accursius of Morocco, also known as Saint Accursies, was a Franciscan Friar Minor who devoted his life to spreading the teachings of Saint Francis of Assisi among the Moors of the West. Born in an unknown date and place, Accursius joined the Franciscan order and became an integral part of the mission to evangelize the Moors. Accursius and his fellow missionaries embarked on their mission by preaching in various regions including Italy, Aragon, Coimbra, Seville, and eventually Morocco. Their goal was to bring the message of Christianity to the Moorish population and help them embrace the Catholic faith. However, their efforts were met with resistance, and they were eventually banished from Morocco. Undeterred by this setback, Accursius and his companions chose to return to Morocco, despite knowing the dangers that awaited them there.
